The Amour of Paradise-Nuts

The Amour of Paradise-nuts is a poetic riddle concerning a lover, originating in The Irrefutable Wills. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into a line and five quintains. Use of assonance is characteristic of the form.

• The first part is intended to express grief over the subject of the poem. It has eight syllables.
• The second part is intended to refuse consolation. It has lines with eight syllables.
