The Milk-opal Tar is a poetic riddle concerning mountains, originating in The Indispensable Tubes. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is six tercets. Each line has four feet with a tone pattern of uneven-even. The third line of each tercet shares the underlying meaning of the first line.
