The Salty Orthoclase is a dramatic poetic form intended to praise Elesanawilu which grew out of the performances of The Merpeople of Defense. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is three to four quintains. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines often share an underlying meaning and they are required to maintain phrasing. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABCAA.
