The Pallor of Cemeteries

The Pallor of Cemeteries is a poetic narrative intended to express pleasure with the goblin deity The Lifeless Death-Rattle originally devised by the goblin Ukxosp Harpyderided. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single quatrain. Use of assonance is characteristic of the form. Every line of the poem has a medial caesura. The third line of the quatrain must expand the idea of the second line. The first line has five feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short-long (quantitative cretic pentameter). The second line has four feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-long (quantitative iambic tetrameter). The third line has four feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-long-short (quantitative amphibrachic tetrameter). The fourth line has three feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short-long (quantitative cretic trimeter).
