The Dolomite Vegetation is a solemn poetic form intended to beseech nature, originating in The Civilian Nettles. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is two quatrains. Use of assonance is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines are required to maintain phrasing. The ending of each line of the poem shares the same rhyme. The third line of each quatrain shares the underlying meaning of the second line. The third line of each quatrain must expand the idea of the second line.
