The Emperor-Penguin of Layering

The Emperor-penguin of Layering is a dramatic poetic form intended to praise Dothru, originating in The Fleeting-Unification of Musing. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single quatrain. Use of symbolism, simile and vivid imagery is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines often contrast underlying meaning. Every line of the poem has an initial caesura. The first line has eight syllables. The second line has ten syllables. The third line has seven syllables. The fourth line has two syllables. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABAA.
