The Discrepant Blood-Amaranth-Grain
The Discrepant Blood-amaranth-grain is a poetic narrative concerning a specific place, originating in The Inefficient Evils. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into three distinct parts: six tercets, another two tercets and three quatrains.
- The first part is intended to complain about the subject of the poem. Certain lines have similar grammatical structures. It has lines with three feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-long (quantitative iambic trimeter).
- The second part is intended to develop the previous idea. Certain lines have similar grammatical structures. It has lines with six feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-long (quantitative iambic hexameter).
- The third part is intended to move away from previous ideas. The fourth line of each quatrain has the same grammatical structure as the second line. It has lines with five feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-long (quantitative iambic pentameter).
