The Paramount Ruin

The Paramount Ruin is a poetic narrative concerning fate, originating in The Diagnostic Grandparent. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a series of quatrains. Use of internal rhyme and vivid imagery is characteristic of the form. Each line has ten syllables. The fourth line of each quatrain shares the underlying meaning of the third line. The third line of each quatrain must expand the idea of the second line. The rhyme scheme of the poem is AAAB. As a rule throughout the poem, the end rhymes don't generally match perfectly.
