The Brood of Scaffoldings
The Brood of Scaffoldings is a poetic form concerning family, originating in The President of Sanctifying. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into a tercet and a septet.
- The first part is reflective and intended to express grief over the subject of the poem. The third line of the tercet shares the underlying meaning of the first line. The third line of the tercet contrasts the underlying meaning of the first line. It has lines with six syllables.
- The second part is light and intended to console the audience. Certain lines often share an underlying meaning and often contrast underlying meaning. It has lines with eight syllables.
