The Comet of Consonances is a reflective poetic form intended to praise Iti, originating in The President of Sanctifying. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is an extremely long series of octets. Use of simile is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines often contrast underlying meaning. Each line has ten syllables. The seventh line of each octet is required to maintain the phrasing of the fifth line.
