The Mineralogical University is a reflective poetic form intended to beseech a historical figure, originating in The Glamorous Asparagus. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single tercet. Each line has ten syllables. The third line of the tercet shares the underlying meaning of the second line. The third line of the tercet presents a different view of the subject of the first line. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABA.
