The Intentional Pear is a poetic riddle intended to make an apology, originating in The Polish of Choirs. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is divided into a septet and two couplets. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines often contrast underlying meaning. Each line has three feet with a tone pattern of uneven-even-uneven.
