The Rational Brains is a ribald poetic form intended to beseech religion, originating in The Straight Byword. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is three to six quintains. Use of assonance is characteristic of the form. Each line has ten syllables. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABCCB. As a rule throughout the poem, the end rhymes don't generally match perfectly.
