The Deliberate Passion-fruit of Blackberries is a ribald poetic form concerning current events, originating in The Avarice of Improving. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into a tercet and a series of quatrains. Use of simile and vivid imagery is characteristic of the form. Each line has three feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short-long (quantitative cretic trimeter).
