The Conceivable Remembrance
The Conceivable Remembrance is a poetic form, originating in The Regulation of Maize. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into three quatrains and five quintains. Use of internal rhyme is characteristic of the form.
- The first part is a narrative and intended to describe the past. Certain lines use the same placement of allusions. It has lines with nine syllables. The rhyme scheme within each stanza is aaab.
- The second part is dramatic and intended to develop the previous idea concerning current events. Certain lines use the same placement of allusions. It has lines with six syllables. The rhyme scheme repeating in each stanza is abbbc.
