The Mineralogical Rose is a dramatic poetic form intended to praise a historical figure, originating in The Regulation of Maize. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single tercet. The Mineralogical Rose is always written from the perspective of the author. Each line has nine syllables. Every line of the poem has a medial caesura. The third line of the tercet is required to maintain the phrasing of the first line. The rhyme scheme of the poem is AAB.
