The Abbey of Versions

The Abbey of Versions is a dramatic poetic form concerning family, originating in The Sightless Procedure. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into a couplet and two tercets. Use of symbolism is characteristic of the form. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines are required to maintain phrasing and they use the same placement of allusions. Each line has eight syllables. Every line of the poem has a terminal caesura.
