The Mineralogical Will
The Mineralogical Will is a reflective poetic form concerning religion, originating in The Worth Jobsheet. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into eight to nine quintains and three quatrains. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines have similar grammatical structures.
- The first part is intended to make an assertion. Certain lines sometimes have reversed word orders. It has lines with five feet with a tone pattern of even-uneven-even.
- The second part is intended to undercut the previous assertion. The fourth line of each quatrain reverses the word order of the third line. It has lines with five feet with a tone pattern of uneven-even-uneven.
