The Incorrigible Heaviness

The Incorrigible Heaviness is a poetic riddle concerning immortality, originating in The Ravager of Dikes. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single couplet. The first line is intended to make an assertion. It has five feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short (quantitative trochaic pentameter). The second line is intended to undercut the previous assertion. It has five feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-short-long (quantitative anapaestic pentameter).
