The Fruits of Enlightening

The Fruits of Enlightening is a dramatic poetic form intended to teach a moral lesson, originating in The Roguish Hierarchy. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single couplet. Use of assonance is characteristic of the form. Each line has five syllables. The first line concerns the past. It is written from the perspective of a party to a debate. It must make use of epenthesis. The second line concerns the future. It is written from the perspective of a party to a debate. It must make use of epenthesis.
