The Acquisitive Broker is a reflective poetic form concerning a journey, originating in The Confederacy of Dowels. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single tercet. Use of metaphor and simile is characteristic of the form. Each line has six syllables. The third line of the tercet shares the underlying meaning of the second line. The third line of the tercet has the same grammatical structure as the first line.
