The Melanite Badgers is a poetic narrative intended to describe Nutxubu the Zircon, originating in The Ravager of Dikes. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single quatrain. The third line of the quatrain uses the same placement of allusions as the second line. The first line has five feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-short-long (quantitative anapaestic pentameter). The second line has five feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short-short (quantitative dactylic pentameter). It has a medial caesura. The third line has five feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-long (quantitative iambic pentameter). The fourth line has five feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short (quantitative trochaic pentameter).
