The Astronomers of Imparting is a ribald poetic form intended to describe a specific place, originating in The Episodic Miscreant. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is five tercets. Use of ambiguity is characteristic of the form. Each line has eight syllables. The third line of each tercet reverses the word order of the second line.
