The Theory of Citrons

The Theory of Citrons is a poetic form, originating in The Cylindrical Entity. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is divided into an extremely long series of quatrains and seven to eight twelve-line stanzas. Use of symbolism is characteristic of the form. Each line has four syllables.

• The first part is intended to describe the past. The refrain occurs as lines two and three.
• The second part is intended to move away from previous ideas concerning current events. The refrain occurs as line five.
