The Covetous Cruelty is a solemn poetic form intended to praise Gof the Demoniac, originating in The Cylindrical Entity. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is four nine-line stanzas. Use of consonance and juxtaposition is characteristic of the form. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines are required to maintain phrasing, they have similar grammatical structures and they use the same placement of allusions. Every line of the poem has a terminal caesura.
