The Understanding Monkey-Pot
The Understanding Monkey-pot is a dramatic poetic form, originating in The Cylindrical Entity. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into two distinct tercets. Use of assonance and consonance is characteristic of the form. Each line has seven syllables.
- The first part is intended to describe the past. Certain lines are required to maintain phrasing and use the same placement of allusions.
- The second part is intended to reflect on previous ideas concerning the future. Certain lines are required to maintain phrasing and use the same placement of allusions.
