The Comet of Outshining is a poetic narrative intended to describe Deq Sky-bluedarken the Requisite Clasp, originating in The Child of Billon. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single quintain. Use of assonance is characteristic of the form. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines are required to maintain phrasing, they use the same placement of allusions and they reverse grammatical structures. The first line has ten syllables. The second line has five syllables. The third line has nine syllables. The fourth line has five syllables. The fifth line has eight syllables.
