The Dynastic Cafe is a poetic form intended to express grief over family, originating in The Bottomless Geyser. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single quintain. Use of consonance is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines reverse grammatical structures. Each line has two feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short-long (quantitative cretic dimeter). The fifth line must make use of elision. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABAAA.
