The Statement of Necessitating

The Statement of Necessitating is a light poetic form intended to describe Sluspo, originating in The Funerary Malevolence. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single quintain. Use of simile, vivid imagery and juxtaposition is characteristic of the form. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines sometimes have reversed word orders and they reverse grammatical structures. The first line has three feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-long-short (quantitative amphibrachic trimeter). The second line has three feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-long (quantitative spondaic trimeter). The third line has three feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short-short (quantitative dactylic trimeter). The fourth line has three feet with a syllable weight pattern of short-long-short (quantitative amphibrachic trimeter). The fifth line has three feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short-short (quantitative dactylic trimeter).
