The Graniferous Rhythm
The Graniferous Rhythm is a form of music used for entertainment originating in The Polish of Choirs. The form guides musicians during improvised performances. A chanter recites nonsensical words and sounds while the music is played on a niral and a dedninsoles. The musical voices bring melody and counterpoint. The melody and counterpoint both have mid-length phrases throughout the form. Never more than an interval sounds at once. It is performed in the adokegudim rhythm. Throughout, when possible, performers are to play legato.
- The chanter always does the counterpoint melody. The voice uses its entire range.
- The niral always does the counterpoint melody. The voice ranges from the sonorous low register to the gentle middle register.
- The dedninsoles always does the main melody. The voice stays in the dark high register.
- The Graniferous Rhythm has a simple structure: three unrelated passages.
- Each of the simple passages should feel heroic and is very fast, and it is to become louder and louder. Each passage is performed using the liloran scale.
- Scales are conceived of as two chords built using a division of the perfect fourth interval into eight notes. The tonic note is fixed only at the time of performance.
- As always, the liloran hexatonic scale is thought of as two disjoint chords drawn from the fundamental division of the perfect fourth. These chords are named un and febamus.
- The un tetrachord is the 1st, the 4th, the 6th and the 8th degrees of the fundamental perfect fourth division.
- The febamus trichord is the 1st, the 2nd and the 8th degrees of the fundamental perfect fourth division.
- The adokegudim rhythm is made from two patterns: the muzlom and the rilgush. The patterns are to be played over the same period of time, concluding together regardless of beat number.
- The muzlom rhythm is a single line with four beats. The beat is stressed as follows:
