The Spelt-Grain of Macadamia-Nuts
The Spelt-grain of Macadamia-nuts is a form of music used for entertainment originating in The Aware Rapacity. The rules of the form are applied by composers to produce individual pieces of music which can be performed. The music is played on a nutxubu. Only one pitch is ever played at a time. It is performed without preference for a scale and in the bungustraz rhythm. Throughout, when possible, composers and performers are to add fills.
- The nutxubu always provides the rhythm and should perform expressively.
- The Spelt-grain of Macadamia-nuts has the following structure: a verse and a chorus all repeated two times.
- The verse slows and broadens, and it is to fade into silence.
- The chorus is very fast, and it is to become softer and softer.
- The bungustraz rhythm is made from two patterns: the osmlospo (considered the primary) and the ekuragsm. The patterns are to be played in the same beat, allowing one to repeat before the other is concluded.
- The osmlospo rhythm is a single line with eight beats. The beat is stressed as follows:
- | x - x - x - - - |
- where x is a beat, - is silent and | indicates a bar.
- The ekuragsm rhythm is a single line with four beats. The beat is stressed as follows:
- | x x - x |
- where x is a beat, - is silent and | indicates a bar.
