The Nectarous Sprig

The Nectarous Sprig is a sacred solo dance originating in The Aware Rapacity. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by The Vinous Heathers. The dancer performs along a counterclockwise circle, moving faster and faster with the music. This dance is a refined artform, with five specific moves to be mastered. The delicate sprightly dance is punctuated by twisting leftward bends and clockwise half turns.

• The nuxungol is one of the fundamental dance moves. First, there is an expressive counterclockwise eighth quarter turn with a raised arm, a sensual facial expression and twisting independent body movement. Then there is a spin. Finally, there is a raised arm with a low body level.
• The suspuzol is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a low body level with a raised left arm, a subtle hand gesture and independent body movement.
• The berek is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a fluid body level change with an expressive raised arm, a spin and expressive movement along the line of dance.
• The ertuzu is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a clockwise eighth quarter turn with an expressive body level change, movement along the line of dance and a refined arm carriage.
• The ko is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a rightward bend with a partially realized raised left arm and a low spin.
