The Petal of Bopping
The Petal of Bopping is a group performance dance originating in The Meritorious Bowline. The rules of the form are applied by choreographers to produce individual dances which can be performed. The dance is accompanied by The Fruity Desert-Limes. The dancers perform loosely mingled turning clockwise. This dance is a refined artform, with five special positions and eight specific moves to be mastered. The dance is punctuated by subtle spins, spirited movement along the line of dance and spirited facial expressions performed in retrograde by group members.
- The dance begins with the passages of the music. The dancers perform slowly to the ebecari rhythm. This section is joyous and sprightly.
- The dance enters a new section with the next passage of the music. The dancers perform slower and slower with the music. This section is spirited.
- The slothepanine is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level with a sensual hand gesture.
- The feri is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a strong raised arm with a passive hand gesture, a low body level and a calm facial expression.
- The uwame is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an aggressive facial expression with a high arm carriage and a grotesque backward bend.
- The cucecuse is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a straight-lined hand gesture with an intense leg lift and an aborted raised left arm.
- The cowe is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level with an elaborate right leg lift performed in succession and shadowed by group members and a graceful hand gesture.
- The fi is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a subtle leftward bend with a lively clockwise eighth turn shadowed by group members.
- The acimedewe is one of the fundamental dance moves. First, there is a low raised left arm. Then there is an aggressive body level change performed in succession by group members with a grotesque leg lift.
- The tafalofi is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a lively rightward bend with an intense facial expression.
- The omarime is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a refined counterclockwise eighth quarter turn with a relaxed facial expression, a relaxed arm carriage and a debauched sway.
- The fefa is one of the fundamental dance moves. First, there is an aggressive leap with undulating independent body movement, a calm spin and a passionate facial expression. Then there is a powerful raised arm with an understated kick. Finally, there is a passive backward bend.
