The Rhythmic Walnut
The Rhythmic Walnut is a social partner dance which grew out of the performances of The Unthinkable Excitements. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by The Blooming Pepper-Plant. The dancers perform in several lines, moving to the music's uturo rhythm. There are partner changes throughout the dance with the lead turning out clockwise. This dance is a refined artform, with two specific moves to be mastered. The undulating dance is punctuated by large moves.
- The dance begins with the passages of the music. The partners rarely make contact, communicating intent through spoken cues. This section is punctuated by the strong arm carriage of the follower.
- The dance enters a new section with the finale of the music. The dancers perform very quickly with the music. The partners maintain open contact, communicating intent by pushing together. This section is joyous and sprightly.
- The gaxog is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is an expressive sway from the lead.
- The ozzok is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is an intense body level change with a strong arm carriage, aggressive footwork and a lively hand gesture.
