The Nutty Grains
The Nutty Grains is a group performance dance originating in The Grand Confederations. The rules of the form are applied by choreographers to produce individual dances which can be performed. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Persimmon of Horned-Melons. The dancers perform in a double circle, moving to the music's ofing rhythm. This dance is a refined artform, with one special position and six specific moves to be mastered. The dance is punctuated by delicate arm carriage and raised arms.
- The iwarolera the fundamental dance position. There should be a low body level.
- The oquil is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a strong straight walk with a high sway and a raised arm.
- The bokem is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a subtle raised arm with a high body level.
- The inal is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a joyous backward bend with a relaxed straight walk mirrored by group members and expressive independent body movement.
- The warosp is one of the fundamental dance moves. First, there is a spin. Then there is a graceful spin with a subtle leftward bend, a straight-lined raised left arm and graceful independent body movement. Then there is a sluggish curved walk with an understated facial expression, a delicate forward bend and a body level change. Finally, there is a raised left arm with a delicate leap.
- The vope is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a fluid raised right arm with serene footwork.
- The ciki is one of the fundamental dance moves. First, there is a rightward bend with understated independent body movement, refined footwork and a passive arm carriage performed in succession by group members. Then there is a spin with undulating independent body movement. Then there is a counterclockwise eighth half turn with a low sway and a body level change performed in retrograde by group members. Finally, there is a twisting body level change performed in retrograde by group members.
