The Ripe Coffee-Cherries

The Ripe Coffee-cherries is a social partner dance originating in The President of Sanctifying. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by The Satyric Music. The dancers perform in a circle. The partners dance closely, communicating intent briefly through touch. This dance is a refined artform, with four special positions to be mastered. The crude dance is punctuated by the left kicks of the follower and the counterclockwise half turns of the follower, with partially realized moves.

• The dance enters a new section with the bridge-passage of the music. The dancers perform very quickly with the music. This section is punctuated by the forward bends of the lead and high body level.
• The dance enters a new section with the chorus of the music. The dancers perform slower and slower with the music. This section is punctuated by the low body level of the follower and independent body movement.
• The dance enters a new section with the finale of the music. The dancers perform quickly with the music. This section is punctuated by spins and the runs of the lead.
• The oq is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level from the lead with a raised left arm from the follower and a left leg lift from the follower.
• The ako is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a backward bend from the follower with a sharp-edged raised left arm from the follower, a leg lift from the follower and a high body level from the follower.
• The iqoq is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level.
• The tik is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an undulating forward bend.
