The Cotton-Seed of Spathes
The Cotton-seed of Spathes is a group performance dance originating in The Doorstop of Spiny-Dogfishes. The rules of the form are applied by choreographers to produce individual dances which can be performed. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Melodic Orange. The dancers perform in a circle, moving faster and faster with the music. This dance is a refined artform, with three special positions and fifteen specific moves to be mastered. The subtle refined passive dance is punctuated by graceful independent body movement, body level changes and low spins.
- The dance begins with the theme of the music. The dancers perform to the sak rhythm. This section is punctuated by twisting runs and left kicks performed in succession by group members, with partially realized moves.
- The sek is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level.
- The ibmas is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a relaxed arm carriage with a high forward bend.
- The ster is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a high body level.
- The ozlomig is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is an understated spin with a soft rightward bend, independent body movement and an understated arm carriage.
- The comthad is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is an understated leap with a right kick.
- The tigir is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a spin with a right leg lift and a body level change.
- The erith is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a straight walk with a leftward bend and independent body movement.
- The binmonor is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a sprightly raised arm with an undulating counterclockwise eighth turn, a backward bend and independent body movement.
