The Wolverine of Larks
The Wolverine of Larks is a sacred solo dance originating in The Moldy Bitter-Melon-Leaf. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by The White-Chalcedony Swan-Person as the dancer acts out the story of the deity Murida Green-Jadehelmet-Snake the Dirty Silvery-Gibbon. This dance is a refined artform, with four specific moves to be mastered. The calm delicate dance is punctuated by elaborate leftward bends, left kicks and low backward bends.
- The dance begins with the introduction of the music. The dancer performs faster and faster with the music. This twisting sprightly section is punctuated by relaxed facial expressions and low body level.
- The dance enters a new section with the passages of the music. This sinuous section is punctuated by independent body movement and low body level.
- The dance enters a new section with the next passages of the music. The dancer performs slower and slower with the music. This sluggish soft weightless section is punctuated by understated runs.
- The feri is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a partially realized left leg lift with a high spin.
- The uwame is one of the fundamental dance moves. First, there is a graceful rightward bend with a raised right arm, a counterclockwise eighth quarter turn and a low body level. Then there is a fluid clockwise eighth turn with a partially realized raised right arm and a high body level. Finally, there is a leg lift with independent body movement, a sluggish clockwise eighth quarter turn and a high body level.
- The cucecuse is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a right kick.
- The cowe is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a raised left arm.
