The Vanity of Pikes is a sacred group dance originating in The Race of Speech. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Sky-Blue of Impenitences as the dancers act out the story of the human deity Azweni the High Grimeling. The dancers perform in a double circle, moving to the music's ciki rhythm. The entire dance has a basic movement called the ciloc. There is a series of four steps in a triangle pattern with a delicate hand gesture, a sluggish backward bend and a counterclockwise eighth quarter turn. The twisting passive dance is punctuated by subtle independent body movement and rightward bends.
