The Graniferous Flour
The Graniferous Flour is a sacred group dance originating in The Freeman of Supplying. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The String-Bean of Humming. The dancers perform in several lines. This dance is a refined artform, with two special positions and four specific moves to be mastered. The intense dance is punctuated by sensual spins and spirited curved walks.
- The dance enters a new section with the verse of the music. The dancers perform quickly with the music. This flamboyant powerful section is punctuated by high body level and sharp-edged independent body movement.
- The dance enters a new section with the bridge-passage of the music. The dancers perform along an improvised path, moving with the music. This refined section is punctuated by independent body movement, with large moves and movement shadowed by group members.
- The dance enters a new section with the finale of the music. The dancers perform turning clockwise, moving slower and slower with the music.
- The xaka is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an aggressive backward bend with a powerful arm carriage, a high body level and a high right leg lift shadowed by group members.
- The uc is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an expressive arm carriage performed in retrograde by group members with a low body level.
- The fekgotahbas is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a leap with a clockwise eighth quarter turn mirrored by group members.
- The ukboko is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is an aggressive leg lift with a spin performed in retrograde by group members.
- The onth is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a twisting spin with a body level change, a passionate backward bend and lively independent body movement.
- The rujithrumo is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a clockwise eighth turn with a low sway, independent body movement and a sensual facial expression.
