The Rhythmic Wreaths
The Rhythmic Wreaths is a sacred solo dance originating in The Harp-Seal of Shying. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Lilac Plum. The dancer performs along an improvised path. This dance is a refined artform, with five special positions to be mastered. The dance is punctuated by partially realized body level changes.
- The dance begins with the passages of the music. The dancer performs very quickly with the music. This section is weightless.
- The dance enters a new section with the coda of the music. The dancer performs faster and faster with the music. This section is punctuated by grotesque movement along the line of dance, elaborate hand gestures and high body level.
- The wori is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a fluid rightward bend with a serene left leg lift and a graceful hand gesture.
- The oyecadi is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a crude arm carriage.
- The sori is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a flamboyant backward bend with a jerking right leg lift and a calm facial expression.
- The imaretha is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a sluggish arm carriage with a grotesque hand gesture, a high body level and a strong right leg lift.
- The pararadele is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a sluggish right leg lift with a straight-lined arm carriage and a low body level.
