The Barley-Grain of Blood-Amaranth-Grains
The Barley-grain of Blood-amaranth-grains is a social group dance originating in The Grandparent of Tufts. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. - The dance begins with the introduction of the music. This section is punctuated by relaxed left leg lifts, graceful arm carriage and high body level.
- The dance enters a new section with the passage of the music. The dancers perform slowly with the music. This section is punctuated by runs and calm independent body movement, with movement mirrored by group members.
- The dance enters a new section with the finale of the music. The dancers perform very quickly with the music. This section is undulating.
- The emsa is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an expressive rightward bend with a sensual hand gesture.
- The ciloc is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a serene facial expression with an undulating hand gesture, a low body level and an understated rightward bend.
- The restro is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a large left leg lift with a soft forward bend mirrored and performed in retrograde by group members and a relaxed arm carriage.
- The udagwa is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a calm body level change with a joyous clockwise eighth quarter turn.
