The Afterlife of Starvation
The Afterlife of Starvation is a sacred group dance originating in The Liberty of Lieges. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by The Ash of Expiries as the dancers act out the story of the half-angel deity Tiq the Crematorium of Poison. The dancers perform in a double circle. This dance is a refined artform, with thirteen specific moves to be mastered. The dance is punctuated by calm facial expressions, low body level and proud right kicks, with large moves and movement mirrored by group members.
- The tad is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a strong run.
- The kiki is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a curved walk with independent body movement, a passive sway and a graceful raised right arm.
- The kod is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a leap with independent body movement and a flamboyant spin.
- The dote is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a high body level with a calm facial expression.
- The dok is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a leap with a joyous raised left arm and a calm clockwise eighth turn.
- The pofid is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a proud raised arm with a body level change.
- The itoq is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a clockwise eighth half turn with a low arm carriage, a low body level and a calm leftward bend.
- The oq is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a sinuous left leg lift with a refined leap and a raised left arm.
- The ako is one of the fundamental dance moves. First, there is a proud spin with passive independent body movement. Then there is a spin with a grotesque right leg lift. Then there is a serene hand gesture. Finally, there is passive footwork with a low body level, a joyous facial expression and a refined hand gesture.
