The Turtles of Grass
The Turtles of Grass is a sacred group dance originating in The Splattered Orcas. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Dwarven Radish-Plant. The dancers perform in a single line, moving with the music. This dance is a refined artform, with three special positions to be mastered. The dance is punctuated by twisting independent body movement and partially realized hand gestures.
- The dance begins with the passages of the music. This powerful strong intense section is punctuated by vigorous spins and leaps.
- The dance enters a new section with the coda of the music. This section is elaborate, expressive and sprightly.
- The tafalofi is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an aggressive hand gesture with a grotesque rightward bend.
- The omarime is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a spirited left leg lift with a high body level.
- The fefa is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a serene hand gesture with a low body level, a calm arm carriage and an intense forward bend.
